Introduction to Florence
Florence is the capital city of Tuscany region with 380000 inhabitants.
Apparently this city doesn't need any further presentation, as it keeps the biggest concentrations of MasterPieces
(and Masterminds too) in the world:
The David by Michelangelo , Ponte Vecchio , The "Primavera" by Botticelli , The Cupola of Brunelleschi are just few of the uncountable heritage of Treasures which Florence can show to the Audience.
Me , and my Colleagues, have a big privilege that is a big responsability as well:
Our mission is to let the tourists have a journey through history and we also have to let them understand that the majesty of Florence goes beyond taking pictures of Statues or Monuments that you have admired on every art book.
Florence can't be compared to any other city:
here more than the other city we have the development of Art (Reneissance),
here we had one of the very first democatic system, in which the rich merchants were more powerful than the noble Families(Medici Family for instance were born as wool traders)
Here the Italian language was invented(Dante)
Here we had a powerful, intelligent, literated ,beloved and dangerous family at the same time, who loved Florence more than any other thing ,
and helped Florence being the richest , most flourished city in Europe for a while, with the development of the bank system and discovering, supporting and patronizing considerable artists mentioned in every art books (Leonardo,Michelangelo,Brunelleschi,Donatello,Botticelli,Galileo).
Here, the GrandDuke of Tuscany Pietro Leopoldo Lorena, decided for the first in the history to abolish the death Sentence.
Apart from the priceless art heritage it gets, Florence it is also suitable for food and wine lovers, as well as for shoppers with the many Gold and Leather Stores spread all over the city.
